Registration open for 4-H Volunteer Forum in Lincoln

4-H volunteers from 12 states come to Lincoln, Ne this fall to gain new ideas and network with their peers. Registration is open for the North Central Region 4-H Volunteer Forum scheduled Oct. 1-4 at the downtown Holiday Inn. The theme is "Giving Them Our Best."

The event will feature 70 educational workshops, three keynote speakers, sharing and some time to celebrate. The registration fee is $200 for the full forum or $110 per day. Early-bird registratio… Continue

4-H 2009

We had our first regular meeting today, Jan. 17. We've got 40 members. I'll ask for advice. I've been a club leader for 15+ years and in the early years the election of officers so often was a popularity contest (as elections often are), but we'd elect someone who didn't show up for the meetings. So, in the last few years I make a list of "eligible officer candidates" based on their attendance. 4-H Volunteer Information Series

If you are not familiar with the 4-H Volunteer Information Series, I would encourage you to check it out at http://4h.unl.edu/volunteers/InfoSeries.htm. There are over 60 one to three page fact sheets designed to help 4-H volunteers. There are sections on club activities, 4-H information, club leader help, officer help, etc. If you have any suggestions for the series, let us know.
